Thanks for the explanation fury!

That makes sense - the core for the truss levels may be hard to build, but 25 days no change is a bit too long?

I have also noticed that the top level for the truss belt is significantly shorter than the bottom level, but the render does not show that.

Hi all.

Hi Kix.

As I said in my last post they have the heights of levels 6 and 7 backwards in the drawing. I noticed that as soon as I saw it. Perhaps there was a revision in the plans before construction, but after the pdf was released.
I have a feeling level 21 will be the shorter of the next 2 belt truss levels unlike the drawing shows, as well - we shall see when the form jumps.

I thought the levels behind the form were done when they began erecting the next double level columns on top. I think that may still be true and they are simply concentrating the man(and woman)power on the supercolumns and floorplates right now.

In the video, the commentator described the Shanghai Tower having three different and independent 'production lines' - the core, the floor plates and the cladding, so i dont think its the floor plate that is delaying the core.

I guess this must be planned like this as same cranes work on the core and the floor plates.

I see no reason why the floorplates can't continue up leaving a hole (to be filled in later) for the crane masts. That happens on many projects.

The radial truss on level 7 that can be seen sticking out past the belt truss has been there for weeks.

Great shot of level B3. If that is correct it looks like they are working on B4 now.

The next 2 belt truss levels that are behind the form are complex and it makes sense they will take longer before the form jumps.

Hi Miami.

Old renders I think. The first 'sky garden' is on level 8, just above the radial trusses.

Here is a screenshot from the Gensler PDF

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

The blue levels (6 and 7) are the belt truss levels. I find it interesting that Gensler shows level 6 as shorter than 7 when it is the other way around on the structure. No matter, it still has them in the correct spot and shows 20 and 21 as the next 2.

I think this may be the final podium design - or at least a better representation.

What is up with the last picture? I see the two roads going underground.... Will that be there or is it just a render? Its quite strange

I think it is a sort of underground parking lot, it would be pretty good for the traffic if it gets constructed, brilliant idea I simply love that tower, this kind of skyscrapers should be constructed everywhere xD

It looks to me as if the road crossing is going underneath a ground level pedestrian crossing area.

If the claddings going to look anything like in the render above then this will be one of the best looking buildings in the World. Easily.

There was a sample of the outer facade posted earlier. I think it should look fantastic

Hi Kix.

I only speak english ... Too bad the vids don't have some english translation.
Thanks for the info - it does make sense to segregate the workforce. They do that on most projects.

Shiruba beat me to it but I would mention the cranes have to lift to all areas.

I never even noticed the pedestrian crossing with the roadway going under. It does look like a good idea.

Nice to see the form jump exposing level 20, the lower level of the next belt truss.

Aparently Mike Strabala isn't happy with how that sample of glass came out, so it might look a bit different/better than that sample.
