I heared a lot about bad air in China. I guess all city centers are like this. A city center is a nice place to visit but a horrible place to live in

Yeah, the heavy industry is more and more moving westwards to e.g. Chongqing or Chengdu. Good for Shanghai's air quality.

From my experience of traveling to Shanghai for the past five years (3-4 times per year) I have to say the air quality has gotten significantly better each year. Still not North American standard but way better than the smog chocked days of the 1990s.

specially after the Shanghai World Expo 2010, where dozens of factories and plants moved to the suburbs.

Once it breaks out from behind all those shorter buildings, people will really notice it!

Just got back from Hong Kong. Although i really love this tower (and ofcourse also the other 2), i have to say that i fnd it to bad they wont plant some more simple and in my view: elegant towers. Imagine pudong filled with Two IFC and ICC like towers..... WOW

that said, i cant complain about Shanghai's own Towers ofcourse . will be visiting the construction sight this weekend AGAIN.

It almost does, in the last pic you can see the beams from the core sticking out.

Am I the only one, who thinks that it's kinda sad, that a so much more higher tower like Shanghai Tower puts the other two towers to shame? All three would look so nice together, if they had a similar height. Now two of them will look rather insignificant.

Is it me or does this building actually look kinda thin for its size(judging from construction pics)?

That's because this is not it's final shape. Don't forget there will be another outer layer which makes the building significant fatter.

I 1000% agree with you. I don't care about Jin Mao but SWFC is in my opinion an even better design than ST and it will be dwarfed But then again, being dwarfed by ST is a true honor
