I assume that construction is marginally slower when going higher; in addition the weather will be less favourable in the coming months, which could also modestly slow construction, so I don't see them managing more than 10 more by the 1st of January. But we can have a wager. I'd be just as happy if I lose the bet :P
Agree, actually despite that I find the progress relatively good, as for sheer size and complexity of the job, its still seems not enough to be in schedule by the end of the year.

This is what we heard supposed to be done by the end of the year. And truss belt itself takes around one month to complete.

So unless they'll speed up dramatically they won't make it imho.

The floor sizes are relatively smaller in the next section and the truss belt will be smaller too. Since they took about 3 month in between the last truss belt and this one, i think they might actually just manage it in time.

How can you even see the make up? It's blurry and as far as you know that might be her naturally.

Does someone know what the meaning of this big magnet in front of the SWFC is?

Whoa, what's with all the tangled lines under the computer rendering of the tower? Reminds me of Max/MSP.

It looks to me like a project management chart, detailing the steps of construction and their dependencies.

Maintaining that same pace of two windows per month, the Shanghai tower core should be even with the top window of that residential tower by June 2012, and surpass it about a month later. It would be interesting to take a picture on June 12th from the identical perspective and see if ST has indeed surpassed that adjacent tower in height.

I don't know what are you saying, shanghai tower is already taller than those nearby residential towers.

I guess didn't word my post correctly. I didn't mean literally taller, I meant from the perspective of those comparison pics you posted. Take the exact same picture in June 2012 and a horizontal line drawn from the core top would be at the top window of the residential tower. Gives a good idea of how that same view will look by then.

To put it another way, at the current construction pace the SWFC will no longer be visible if that same picture is taken in June 2012. That's probably a clearer idea of what I meant.

Its a plug-in in rhino called Grasshopper. Its a parametric design tool, and it looks mental when you are working in it!
