Oh sorry I did'nt notice the vid posted by nord, you can now give up on my plan if you don't want to get caught by the police then condamned to manufacture chopsticks for the rest of your life!!lol

joke aside,I'm not familiar with Shanghai's office/residential real estate market,I don't know of the office demand by corporations, there's nothink sadder than an empty supertall like the ones in Dubai,Shanghai's not known as the financial "heart" of asia,HK holds this title, more and more I found myself wondering if these supertalls are designed to be "Symbols" regardless of economical sense, especially the state owned project

Will This tower remain Empty once it's accomplished ??? or is it backed by office demand in one of the fastest growing city ?

The core must be extremely thick in person because it is supporting 4 full size cranes. In comparison the Burj Khalifa only used 3 cranes.

number of cranes used depends on building configuration, Burj is triangular building from top, so 3 cranes for it

This is basically the case for every skyscraper, which is why building higher does not always make sense.

Everyone knows that supertalls are being built as a status symbol. Even here in Hong Kong, supertalls are just not financially feasible, yet.

Having said that I want to say that I'm amazed about the progress being done so far, good job Shanghai.

This is the thickest core/tower I've ever seen. The sheer bulk of it!!!!

I love the concept of the sky lobbies. Whenever someone needs a break from an office or hotel room, the open area would be so nice without having to leave the building. Similar to the WAY distant concept in this video:

Similar ideas on a different scale. Without the twist.
