Those photographers are really spoiling us with such photography. It just doesn't get any better with skyscraper designs and neither it does with photo updates.

Judging by the height of the section between the 1st and 2nd belts and the height of the section above the 2nd belt, there will be a new belt quite soon... along with the potential for sock consumption.

Is the building I circled in red an office or a hotel? If it's an hotel, that's the name of the hotel?

It was originally planned to house a W Hotel (which will open in the White Magnolia Plaza instead), but I don't know what its actual use is. Maybe serviced apartments.

This is definately the one of the most boring supertalls to watch rise due to the very simple core/form. Perhaps it will start to look more interesting when the cladding is added

I hope not. I hope they stop before 700m. It gets pointless when it gets any higher than that. In fact, im not too sure how well ST will fit into the skyline having such height. Anyways, if China wants to keep things realistic and practical, they should set a height limit.

What they need is more Chinese styled buildings. Make the buildings scream the culture out at people when they see it. I'm ok with elegant towers as well, but the munted ones must go!!!!

I agree. As for skyline perfection, extremely tall buildings don't really blend in nicely. The new Kingdom Tower is nothing but dick-waving in my opinion, whereas the city itself lacks good infra-structure. China is doing very well in improving their infra-structure instead of doing dick-waving, and should continue like that.

Every supertall tower stands for dick- waving, and China is right behind the Arab countries in that regard. The Shanghai Tower is dick- waving².

There's a large difference between dick-waving and building for need/demand.

Wow this one is coming up nicely. Also I thought that Shanghai had more supertalls. But today I was looking at the diagram and they only had 3 with 2 under construction. Shanghai needs more that that if they are going to have a megatall.
