Thanks, but I also wanted to know which floor is the 2nd platform, so I don't get lost in each update

When and how will they start the cladding?

This building looks so amazing from the renders, such a departure from the boring tall box. I wish I could jump forward in time 1 year or two to see it finished, i'm too impatient haha

Jesus Christ.
what I'm saying, is that there are no names for specific areas on the riverfront besides WaiTan obviously (e.g. Hongkou riverfront, northern and southern portions on the Pudong side, etc.)

Hongkou Riverfront is generally referred to as Bei Wai Tan as far as I know.

Apparently one of the constructor replied on the chinese forums that the cladding will be delayed from early June.

What are you referring to here? Do you think that the plan is intended for a higher tower? Remember that the core is designed for this building, so you can't change your mind halfway through.

I really wish people wouldn't worry so much about the height of a building compared to others. It's far more impressive to think that the visual "floor" of the skyline of a city like Shanghai could be 200m up, instead of wondering how high the peaks are. Nevermind that having a +600m building instead of a 600m tower ought to say all that needs to be said about a city's economic life. Not to imply that Tokyo's a backwater by any means, but it's obvious which of the two cities will have more going on in the future.

Thing about Chinese construction pages is that it tends to deviate from the actual purpose quite easily. If you count the number of 'useless' and 'unnecessary' posts in this forum, they could easily make up 40% or more of the posts with issues ranging from height, Chinese politics, poor city planning etc.

People shouldn't care about the height and status, they should just accept that this is the project and appreciate it.

They could just stick a 50m pole on the top.

Making it 3 metres higher doesnt take to change the core or anything else important...

But what's the sense of making it 3m taller?

Shanghai doesn't need to prove anyone that they are better by making a spire on a building or anything. SWFC could have been the tallest building in the world if they did, but who cares, it doesn't always have to be a competition as long the buildings look amazing i do not care if they are 5m shorter than another building, it makes absolutely no visual difference
