In one picture I think I can see a split in the yellow platforms. Will they remove the inner part once the outer cladding structure is all the way down, then raise it back up to begin the cladding, 1st sky garden down? Or will they go from the ground up? So interesting.

The second pic has adjusted perspective which makes it look taller perhaps. In any case it does look tall. It's already a visible vertical accent in Lujiazui. We can only imagine what will happen once it will reach its full height. It's going to be quite a view.

Does somebody know, will they change the final height of Shanghai Tower (632 m), because of the Sky Tree (634 m) in Tokyo? As I know Asians they are very competitive, especially if it´s about Chinese-Japanese relations. Of course we cannot compare skyscraper with some "simple" TV tower, but the media and the world is interested only in "the most", "the best", etc., nobody cares of the difference of some simple antenna and normal roof, what is much harder to build. So I hope Chinese will add one more floor to surpass Tokyo

China has many buildings taller than Shanghai Tower. Its actually good that Shanghai stays out of this silly race. They must build towers that compliment their skyline. Putting a BK where ST is now will completely screw up the skyline.

KE Metro,

I doubt it, since there are other towers U/C in China that will already be taller than ST.

Thanks kix. I'm very much aware of that. First, however, I must make sure I take enough photos and explore places. Shanghai is so big. Clubbing is only after I will have achieved my primary targets... as a reward.

Is someone flying kites from the tower, or towards the tower? Either way kinda strange with cranes in action.
