Hi all.

Great to see cladding, alright.

To me, cladding is like clothes on a woman. It looks good and accentuates the fine lines but I like what's going on underneath and below.

Ray.

Et voila, smog is coming back to Shanghai. Today it was already less clearer than it has been over the last 10 days.

Shanghai had put a huge amount of money on its skyscrapers, but it is also very important to improve many people who only got paid by 1500 rmb per month.

You mean that people working on this building are only making 1500 rmb a month ? Seriously ?

For those that are curious , that's the equivalent of about $200 a month in a city that has nearly Western housing and living costs .

These workers are provided with housing. Notice the construction site has a few smaller temporary buildings set up. These are living quarters.

Shanghai has a mix of both very expensive and very cheap housing and food options. If you want to live an expat lifestyle, it will be expensive. If you want to eat imported food, it's even more expensive than Hong Kong. But for the locals, they can get by with less luxurious housing and local food at a fraction of the cost. It's still relatively expensive to income, but definitely not Western housing and living costs.
