It may be good for energy saving (reducing air conditioning by 50%) but how much extra energy is used for effectively building something with an outer layer of glass AND an inner layer too..?

It must act like a cooling tower in a power station.

Check out his stunning other projects, Burj Khalifa, Nanjing Greenland Ziefeng Tower, Hong Kong Convention Center, Yingkou Convention and Exhibition, Houston Ballet Dance Center, Canary Wharf projects. He is a supertall EXPERT and lectures all over the world. Cool guy

Maybe it pays off on a long term analysis. But would be interesting have those numbers too.

Hi all.

It's good to see a project that isn't afraid to give out a realistic number for the project cost. 2.36 billion USD sounds right on for this project.

The BK has a 1.5 B USD figure that was widely touted that is not even close. I have info at 3.78 before some major revisions therefore is surely closer to 5 B.

The KT figure at 1.2 B USD is even worse ...

Not sure what the advantage is to the developer by low balling the cost by these unrealistic amounts but it seems to be a trend with some projects.

Ray.

Fantastic closeups - looking forward to more. I'm constantly amazed by the engineering of this beauty.

I have a question about the concrete delivery system aka Putzmeister - it must require tremendous pressure to pump concrete to these heights.

Are they pumpimg from the ground or a higher floor. Also, do the hoses need to be flushed after every use, daily, etc??
