Radisson Blu hotel Shanghai is the best place to stay when in Shanghai and enjoy the views!!!!

You can clearly witness that in this picture

Lowai, sorry to hear about yor food poisoning and thanks for posting this fantastic closeups.

I've always wonder how they jump these cranes. I cannot see any heavy machinery or pistons within the crane. And these jumps raise the crane about 5 stories.

The only thing I've noticed are two spindly poles placed on the bottom of the crane during the jump.

I can't imagine how they do these jumps. Perhaps some mechanism with the yellow supports ratcheting the crane up? How do they actually jump these cranes up five stories?

cranes "jumps" by adding a pieces of their body (called mast, google it) under their neck, and they can remove a mast pieces at their feet so that it can "jump" or move upwards.

Not those cranes. They don't add anything to the mast but rise it with pneumatic risers. I'm not sure how they works exactly to answer vDbronx question. I think (but may be wrong) that pneumatic risers are located at the base of each mast. They extend rising the mast, then mast gets locked and risers drows back into the mast until the next jump. I hope any of that makes any sense to you vDbronx

Who said it was meant to have greenish tint? I always thought it was meant to be transparent with no tint of any color.

I really like this project, because It's a symbol of a new China and a new architectural concept, design and style. In and around the Shanghai Tower will be trees and green spaces. It's very important, I think, that Development and environmentalism go together: it' the only way to the future!

Yes... That's exactly how I would imagine is done; I just have not seen any pics mid-jump showing those pistons.

If anyone could grab a shot mid-jump, I would appreciate it

Here is one with risers extended. If you'd have looked properly trough the thread I'm sure you could have found lots of better pics.
