Similar??? Its just because of the angle of the render

Shanghai Center has a twisting circular shape. On the other hand SWFC has a square shape that is getting thinner.

If you wonder about the "hole" on Shanghai Center, it is just a huge alcove.

The notice for public submission for the environmental impact statement was published yesterday. Given the location the EIS wont take long to complete. If you can read chinese the notice below. The notice also says it will be started this year and completed in 2013 but this will be an at latest completion date. According to the developer they hope to hand over the office space in 2011 which should be achievable as the fitout is very plain (raised floor with no carpet, painted walls and suspended ceiling). The hotel component is likely to take longer as the rooms take much longer to fit out.

Sure. The majority of it is just explaining what they look at such as how they plan to manage construction dust, noise, vibration etc. Then there's info about how to contact the environment bureau and the process of the EIA.

The only part worth reading is part 2 which just explains the location of the project, the site, the streets surrounding it etc. Then it says the building footprint will be 30,000 sq.m., the total GFA will be 380,000 sq.m., the height will be 580 m tall, construction will start in 2008 and be complete in 2013.

Shanghai to implement the overall city planning, speed up the Lujiazui financial trade zone construction, optimize the layout of improving functional areas, promote the comprehensive development of the Huangpu Jiang Liangan, in the Pudong New Area to the west of Dong Tai Road, Garden Road, south of stone bridge, the road east of Silver City, Lujiazui Ring Road, north of the central area of Lujiazui Z3-2 block, building-office, hotel, commercial, and other functions as one integrated buildings "in Shanghai." After the completion of the project, and the building trade, the Shanghai World Financial Center, and other top office formed the International Business Centre, the Shanghai financial centre of the building added an extremely thick, and further improve the overall urban landscape.
Shanghai Center building project covers an area of about 30,000 square meters. The proposed total area of about 380,000 square meters, building height of 580 m of high-rise building. Project started in 2008, 2013 completion.

Thank you. Its much easier to understand English.

Unfortunately it doesn't tell anything about how many floor there will be. In fact its certain that ShanghaiCenter will have more than 100 floors.

Puxi is the real Shanghai. The heart and soul of the city, and comprises most of its land area. Lujiazui is just a fraction of the land (and skyscrapers) of Shanghai.

Puxi is the part of Shanghai on the west side of the river Huangpu, its historical part. Xi in Chinese means West, Dong - East (Pudong).

As for Pudong, only some parts of it has been developed so far, Lujiazui is one of them.
I prefer Puxi, here you can find architecture through the whole history of Shanghai.

i prefer puxi and with all that much land to build supertalls compared to lujiazui is unbelievable
