This should be Gensler's third project in Lujiazui, the other two being 21st Century Tower (under construction beside WFC) and the Shipyard Project (soon to be under construction). They also have another project called Zhong'Ou, but i'm not sure if this is in Lujiazui or on the other side of the river.

Some people here were disappointed with the height, but i think it balances out nicely with WFC and Jin Mao.

492/421 = 1.169

492x1.169 = 575

So, 580 is the good height.

Should be the developer, since they are paying for it. Lujiazui Group owns 51% of the development consortium, can't remember the other partners.

Taller? Even 580m is too high, it will totally mess up Pudong skyline...

Assuming supertall is anything above 300m, if you're talking about Xujiahui Centre then it's not a rumour. Still under planning, but expected to be around 300m. It's a pity they couldn't make Wheelock Square 2 more metres taller so it'd be counted as a supertall. Other than that there's no land left with planning controls free enough to allow for a supertall, for the time being anyway.

There's no sites left in that area. Although Shanghai Centre was originally going to be a shorter tower, then they changed it at the last moment. It wouldn't suprise me if they changed the planning for one of the already auctioned sites.

From Emporis: the Xujiahui Tower will be 460m tall...

Jib is correct about the XuJiaHui Supertall. 400+ was the original height, but, as of now, it has been demoted to the land of 300 meterish-ness (340m?--I forget the exact number). The site has been busy for about a year and a half now, but I don't think construction for the tower has started (lots of other stuff going up on the same site as well).
