Turning out amazing. Great tower.
Just wish it wasn't so phallic in shape.

Great video / documentary alas for being in Chinese only. But wow, talk about some super-tempered glass.

For people who didn't sit through it all, it's about as informative as any other awesome tower documentary. Features bits of specialized steel work, concreting, form jumping, crane operation, glass manufacture, bits on design and sustanability, etc.

Great video and thanks for linking, even though I think I could only understand "Shanghai" "Tower" "Meters" and maybe like two other words in the whole thing.

When complete this tower should be really, really amazing at night, because you won't have reflections on the outer cladding obscuring the inner cladding.

Dear Shanghai residents, The updates are much appreciated. A video of a crane rising would be sweet!

maybe the caiwuwei tower in shenzhen, there are several possible designs and the tower is supposed to be 666m.

I think so, I think the tower is rising faster during summer and spring than in autumn and winter.

It just baffles me how some of these cranes, can hang from the side, and other awkward positions,, not this 1 necessarily, (you see them on the sides of scrapers quite often..) But the 2 they had on top of the top of Petronas just before the spires,, wow that is just weird,, you know the guys in the cranes are working at very odd angles, then for it just to be attached to the building in such an unorthodox fashion.. impressive as hell... And from what i've heard, Petronas top was made with mostly concrete, as was most the bldg. If it is mostly concrete, then how the hell does a crane affix itself to that?
