The uppermost top floors look like old freedom tower design's top floors.

But the tower looks terribly high and good. Can't believe one day people will be looking down on SWFC as a short skyscraper, looking down from 88 metres above SWFC is just unthinkable. I don't know exact figure (what is the height of the highest habitable floor in Shanghai centre?)

Is it 600+ now? Unless it has changed in last few hours, I'm very sure the tower is 580 metres tall.

Wow, this design is just perfect!!! Amazing podium, beautiful double skin, and amazing color and height, a truly ultramodern 21st century tower!

Maybe 580m is roof height and 600m is structural height, no idea. Gensler website seems to be the only official source using this height.

Insane. SWFC will become a midrise building in comparison.

Then we could be looking down on to SWFC from maximum of 108 metres higher. Which is just dizzy...

OMG!!!

Shanghai is SOOOOOO Progressive...I mean, they are just getting this brand new, marvelous supertall building (SWFC) and not settling with that they already designed an ultra-futuristic megatall building that will dwarf the now-dominant SWFC.

I wish my city were half as progressive.

It's probably because of the Burj Dubai.

I thought Pudong was sinking and as a result more prone to flooding because of the weight of all the skyscrapers. Have they fixed the problem?

Wow what a stunner....good to see them thinking about the sustainabilty issues too. I think this is a far more exciting prospect than Burj Dubai, height isn't everything.

The problem was exaggerated; the sinking has slowed now so its almost not a problem now. Anyway if it gets worse they can always do something, just look at the Three Gorges Dam, earthquake rebuilding, etc...

Indeed, Shanghai terrain is settling, not sinking. Simlilar phenomenon was registered in NY in the early 20th century as a result of the massive urbanization. They forecasted that Manhattan would disappear within the end of the century, lol.
