After the 1st section had been completed (cladding included), any moment could be the right one to start the podium, I guess.

Great pic, must be taken from Hong Kong HQ right? That must have a good view of the Shanghai Tower at the other side too.

With Chinese speed, I'd say at least 5 months ahead of schedule.

I guess he means that the roof will be topped out by July, not the decorative structure above the roof. That means roughly 150 meters to go, which is definitely doable in 7 months.

Soon-tallest tower two-thirds to its top

Shanghai Daily | By Zha Minjie | 2012-12-28

SHANGHAI Tower which will be China's tallest building when completed in 2014 has climbed to about 425 meters in the Lujiazui business area. It will ultimately reach 632 meters becoming an instant city landmark.

The building saw the completion yesterday of the 90th floor of its main structure.

Construction is on schedule with a new story completed every seven days builders said. Shanghai Tower will have about 210,000 square meters of office space and 50,000 square meters area for commercial functions.

The excavation for the building was the biggest underground pit ever built in Shanghai - underground levels are about the size of 3.2 soccer fields. Unlike many other towers in Lujiazui the future tallest building in China will rent not sell space.

The city's investment in big government construction projects this year including the Shanghai Tower was 120 billion yuan (US$19.2 billion) construction officials said.
