If the USA government had any balls we'd tax the shit out of the junk coming from China and that would be the end of China's boom. In fact, they need the US more than we need them. China has capital controls and can't spend it's money domestically so they spend it overseas and mostly in the US. They need to cheat to get ahead.

China also has a falling stock market, high inflation, a housing bubble and severe poverty in the interior. The labor rate is rising, the subsidies have ended and US companies are tired of the commies stealing their intellectual property. All of this is sending manufacturing back to the US.

Oh and I can't forget the ghost cities the Chinese are building to manipulate their GDP. Yup. All is just great in the new promised land of the People's Republic.

Control of speech. Control of the internet. Control of births. Control of thought. Robert is right. Look for a revolution there within 20 years.
Fair warning - with China's upcoming economic leadership, Chinese people ought to get used to the hatred that will be directed at them from some of the citizens of Honey boo boo land !

^ and I'm confused about the definition of projects from 2013-2015, coz if thats the case, then the 636 meters wuhan greenland center and the 528 meters citic center of beijing should also be added in coz they are already in preparation stage.

Do you really mean that the US is giving away money to China to build all these buildings? If yes, why the US is borrowing a lot of money from other countries like China?

It is true that China makes some money by exporting some stuff to US and other countries. But that is not American money or another
country's money anymore. For example, if you sale me a car for $20k, than
that money is your hard earned cash. It is not my money anymore.
Besides, no one is pointing a gun on the heads of consumers to buy Chinese goods. Moreover, most supertalls in China are not empty.
The story about ghost cities are exceptions not norms. These are the majority opinion for those people who have visited the country for extensive time. Also, there is no doubt that currently, the US is a great country which is more developed than China overall. But that does not mean those good things in China has to come from the US.

Finally, many of the recent big build ups in China are due to its huge population which is more than 4 times that of the US. Taking this into account, then perhaps one would make a calmer and more balanced view on the topic.

Back to topic, the chief architect of SH tower is an American payed by the Chinese. He is not building up China for free.

Cheers,

Laojang

It would be interesting to see a diagram of current and future buildings with occupied floors above 450M. These buildings seem to be more rare than buildings that qualify as 600M.

Really, but this shouldn't be the right topic for that.
