The glass in that picture looks like a stream of water. Gorgeous.

I like how the trusses flow with the bldg, you have to look to really see them, kix are they using smaller window at truss level, anyway it's a very smooth design. Is that going to be the final look of the trusses like the second 1?

It has been a ghost building for a while, the scaffolds at the top are breaking apart and nothing seems to be ongoing inside.

I agree. The much lesser quality buildings around it make this tower shine even more.

Yep, from far away the skyline looks amazing. But when you come closer you start noticing the lack of density, i.e. the gaps.

The air is so fresh and clear on those pictures. Rare thing for Shanghai.

Man the tower is flying.. its amazing how the cladding is installed. The exo-skeleton adds a huge element of de-Constructivism to this tower.. the surge of shiny glass facades seems to have lead architects to want to expose what's under that cladding.

I guess you can tell the truss levels from the exterior, but the way they designed them, like a set of two, 2 smaller windows, small gap then 2more smaller windows, instead of the regular size windows, looks cool as hell. Does anybody know the standard deminsion of a regular window, and the weight of each? lowai pics show the very seemless transistions betweeen truss levels,,you can still see the level but looks nearly flawless though. Basically does anybody know the size of the Exterior windows, as opposed to interior cladding?

That cladding is gorgeous and i'm not usually a fan of glass cladding.

In my model (see the thread in my signature) I've made exterior windows 4,30 meters high x 1,90 wide.
Just note, anyway, I had not enough data to calculate with 100% precision the real size, so if you just need some approximate idea of their size this might be enough.
Otherwise please don't take in count what I wrote here.

Another unresolved point is: will they reduce the number of window panes or the width of the panes only, since, while climbing up, the external perimeter gets narrower (=shorter)?
In my model I choose the second solution for time saving reasons, and I've seen some 'official' renders of the crown cladding where the width of the panes is evidently shorter than the panes placed at lower levels, but it's not enough to state the real thing will come out that way
