Only 12 floors? Damn, but looking at the Big 3, on the previous pg seeems like Jin Mao would have been the most challenging of the 3. I mean there's not a straight line on that bldg. Anybody know how long it took to build Jin Mao?

So this towers still has a long way to go. It will be the largest of the big 3, by far.

Assuming we are at 516m and using the prior diagram:

A diagram up thread shows 5 more floors of core to ~537m, next 2 floors are the top last 8th retaining ring band and the observation deck to ~548m, then 3 floors of steel mechanical to ~562m, and then ~70+m (not 80) of steel to the crown. Somewhere in there are the wind turbines, too.

I believe T/O projection is for July this summer, enclosure later on this year.

On the above photo, the core would top out at just about where the control cabs are right now for the cranes and the rest of the structure would be a metre or two above where the crane with its boom extended the highest straight up would be in the photo above.

Hey folks, I was just making a diagram comparing 1WTC to the SHanghai Tower so I've decided to post it in this thread as well. Shanghai Tower is currently 516 meters or 1693 feet tall while the pinnacle of 1WTc is currently in a height of 520 meters or 1706 feet

Nice picture! One World Trade Center looks so small compared to the Shanghai Tower!

The shape of Shanghai Tower reminds me of a type of stinkhorn mushroom that I use to see in my yard when I was a child. It was very similar to this, except I remember it having horizontal bands, like the belt trusses on ST:
