Last steel core is around 525 m. Next 2 floors 534 m. and next cranes jump will begin from 534 m. or 114 floor. I hope no mistake from my measurements.
The floor steel: I expect next trust belt, because super columns reached 98th floor. 99 and 100 fl. will be next trust belt-7th.
Around last super columns between 6th and 7th trust belts i cant see concrete, maybe because weight or ...i dont knew.

And to think Jin Mao is close to the size of 1WTC, without the 400ft stick, the other 2 dwarf WTC,(SWFC delete the fake stick and go by roof height, much taller) Jin Mao just a tad behind on roof height.. Wish the U.S. would build like the Chinese, these guys are scared of nothing,, Offer them a 4000 ft tower. "When do we start"?

Seriously, he's only stating his opinion and criticism. Also, he's right with the 1WTC and ST comparison. 1WTC would be completely dwarfed by that building and by the SWFC as well.

Of course that doesn't mean size is the only thing that matters, a building as high as ST wouldn't fit into the proportions and look of the NYC skyline.

But there's a difference when you keep stating the fact over an over again it gets annoying.it's being done on purpose to annoy, and not being done by stating the obvious. anyway shanghai is looking nice.

If there is demand, we do not build it. That is a very difficult concept for people here to grasp. Contrary to what you think, constructing a skyscraper, let alone a supertall, is horrendously expensive. It's for these very reasons that WTC 2 and WTC 3 are put on hold. It's for this reason that the Chicago Spire was cancelled.

I'm assuming China is building for demand reasons and not just to show off. Even then, supertalls are not extremely desirable as elevator space and travel time to higher floors makes the building inefficient.

You must think economically, not with pride.

It's just silly to say that a building that was set to be X height is shorter (or taller) than another that was set to be Y height. It's redundant.

I don't think people understand the way these things work. The whole advantage of building massive structures such as this is in cases where there is so much demand for new office space that you can seek rents high enough to cover the astronomical cost of constructing something this large. In the case of the WTC, I think they were determined to go for a symbolic approach (the whole 1776 thing). Some may call it a cop out but it is what they chose to do.

Anyways, if they wanted a 600m building, they could have done it, but instead of a nice complex, we'd be looking at a mammoth building looming over Lower Manhattan. Wouldn't be a good look, I think.

I don't even like it in Lujiazui's instance...in my personal opinion, I wish they could chuck the Pearl Tower into the river and put ST there. Where it is, it just feels out of place. For now, I think that's just a temporary thing.
