It's perfectly OK, if you personally think ST looks ugly, but it's just an opinion.

That the tower is of poor standard is also just an opinion... or do you have any evidence for that? I don't think so.

Personal opinions shouldn't be tags... (the same goes for the "amazing" tag)

Wish the U.S. would build like the Chinese, these guys are scared of nothing,, Offer them a 4000 ft tower. "When do we start"?
Um, the Jin Mao also has a stick on top and its no where near as big as 1 wtc(tall maybe). The western world learnt that building with only pride in your mind is only asking for trouble.
Asia will learn that soon. Japan is the only Asian country which has.

it's pics like this that make me rethink my loathing of the Oriental Pearl
And the three supertalls looks so good from this angle!
I wish we could reverse it so that it looked that way from the east (i.e. as seen from the Puxi side) too.
anyways, 加油!

It's for this reason that the Chicago Spire was cancelled.

I'm assuming China is building for demand reasons and not just to show off. Even then, supertalls are not extremely desirable as elevator space and travel time to higher floors makes the building inefficient.

You must think economically, not with pride.
It's just a shame 2WTC won't be built, that is the pick of the WTC litter if you ask me, I loved 3, as well. Until they removed the bracing, now it looks like a similair but taller version of 4 with 4 spires.. (the spires are cool though) Sorry way oT sorry Shanghai Tower junkies

Actually love them both, it's like a horse race coming down to the wire, going to see 1WTC in 5 weeks, don't hate it, just want to see the final piece of the puzzle before I get there. I'll admit I do like ST better, Just wish 1wtc was 200 meters taller (rooftop), that would be astounding, then there would be no need for a second. Kanto do you have an accurate update on ST's meters. 520?

Well, at night it does look gorgeous and the structure itself looks fine. But the pink colour of the glass facade, which thankfully isn't visible at night, is just awful and has to much of an impact in daytime. Change it in blue or brown and it looks ten times better.

Looking at the trio upclose, yes it's gorgeous, but just look at the angles of Jin Mao, those must have been killers to complete to scale, Awesome bldg. Oasis Bankoks photo to be exact, previous pg, 14739 to be exact.
