The tower has some positive and negative features:

+ height
+ location (city)
+ crown (no spire)
+ tallest observation deck
+ surrounded by tall towers

- form / design (looks like a damaged muffler)
- cladding (too transparent)
- not in a dense area
- spiral design, makes it kind of cheesy
- too curvy for my taste

All imo of course.

There is a large empty plot on the block where Jin Mao tower is. Is anything going to be built on it?

+1
The transparent cladding is a nice change from all those mirror-like claddings around it and I think it will look awesome at night (with lights turned on).

I'm not a fan of the cladding, the building itself is nice

The form is unique but i agree about the cladding. It may not be in a dense area but Pudong is the perfect place for this tower. Anywhere else it would dwarf everything around it. The three supertalls together provide a postcard-worthy iconic view.

also that lighting scheme video is nothing short of epic.

Surrounded by tall buildings but not in a dense area?

I love this tower, it's desing, it's shape, height and curves. It's a 10/10 building

Pudong's streets are so wide that despite it being full of skyscrapers and supertalls, they're really spaced out.
