I've seen engineering wonder lists. Is there a skyscraper wonder list?

Skyscrapers are cool, but they're no wonders.

What's with the ultra-blue gemstone building?

It would be the most ugly and misfitted skyscraper in Lujiazui, even Ping An building can't beat it.

1718 feet to top of core, if you don't want to be technical, it's only 58 feet shorter than the ICBM on 1 WTC. (given all the #'s 1wtc has 1783, 1787 1776 1797) Give it what 2-3 weeks? before it claims #3 for a few years? Soon as it hits that 1800 ft mark 28 more meters will clinch it. So magic numer in meters 18meters till roughly 1777ft. Then it'll just keep climbing. Don't bash me as a USA hater when I live there. Just I don't like the spire or bottom of 1WTC it's like 3 architects got together and said "let's do something different",( A 30 story Aquarium, followed by a Beautiful tower, then an ICBM/Rocket for the top).. Now this is one CONSTANT, smooth, 632 meters, or for us more accustomed to feet, 2074 ft of uninterrupted beauty. Even the truss levels are gorgeous and smooth looking. Before they got to the cladding I was like, (on the truss levels) "how the hell are they going to make those look good? or tie them in nicely, well they BLEW me away) # 1 on the planet by far, I'll take Goldin Finance 2nd(if they add the jewel), 3rd 432PA, then Ping An (Only because the spire is taking it ever so slightly above the solid top of ST), for me on the U/C list, ZZ-II. Completed favorites would be (in this order) I like the 2 below,(SWFC, ICC) then the Sears, Jin Mao, Chrysler. Jin Mao because the taller it got the more a nightmare it looks like it would have been to build, and Chrysler just because of the day and age, and almost 90 years later still looks beautiful.

Any CE or ME who would be able to tell me how much compression such a structure would undergo at the bottom floors?

How much would they compress and/or squash out, in mm?

Yes. From these photos and even standing next to it, it does not appear *that* large. Then you take the 101F tour of SWFC and Jin Mao is 'down there' and you look up and ST is still 108m short of its ultimate height.

Yep, it's tall alright.

The building would be about 0.3m taller without any gravity. It's a VERY VERY VERY rough estimation so don't count on it.

Not to us anyway, scrutinizing every brick and bolt that go into these things.

How many metres is it growing per week? Haven't seen a building rise so fast. Compare with last year!
