This tower is looking amazing. It has shot up so fast! I seriously cannot believe how quickly the structure has grown.

I believe this will be one of the best looking skyscrapers ever built! Although it is not as tall as the Burj Khalifa, I believe it looks 100 times better!

The Burj Khalifa lacks sophistication that this one clearly has, and this building actually fits the location, I don't know when jin mao was built but I think its good that they follow a standard where every 5-10 years a new tower is built but a bit higher than the last and making it more unique.

I hope your right, I would love to see another Mega, maybe 2500-2600ft, maybe 730-770 meters (rooftop) to represent, I guess China's "Superfuture". I have a feeling their not going to stop with this one, I think they're having as much fun as us, trying to out do each bldg. I'd like it to be higher than Burj, but where is Burj's roof anyway? The observatory so much lower than the top, and SSP doesn't even have a roof height. I like the Burj but I think it "pretty much cheats in every category" and did I mention it makes me sick people like Tom Cruise can actually sit on the top of the spire and smoke a cigarette. How much do you think they'd charge the average Joe to be able to have that experience of a lifetime. It's discrimination God dam$$#

I'm sure we will see a lot more.
They are essentially building new infrastructure from "nothing" like North America once was and in wealth per capita they still have long way to go so there's a lot of room to grow still. That's with a country of over one billion people. So much more of awesome to come.

Definitely, the map you are thinking of is skyline.

I was skeptical about the design but this tower is coming along amazing. ST has put every other tower to shame.

Core in a few weeks, the metal floors above that in a few months and the crown later this year. T/O for this year, completion next year, occupancy in 2015.
I have heard and read that they may open it to the public, perhaps the observation deck, early before the rest of it is complete. I don't know if that is true, though.

Wonderful shots of the interior! And with the latest shot of the whole building, I see the cranes are about to make another jump (their last?)

Jin Mao Building - from the tallest to the shortest super tall in a few short years...

And ST is indeed looking great, one of the most beautifully-designed skyscrapers in years... Like a present day version of the Petronas Twin Towers, hahaha!
