THT-United great pic of the Cladding all the way to third truss belt,(love it when cladding passes on higher truss belts, starting on 4),, looks damn near seamless, can't wait to see this sucker completed, beautiful,, with all the core rising kinda forgot about the speed of the cladding, it's about 40% cladded!!!! Oh yeah welcome back lowai, glad you got another year here.

Excuse my ignorance but what is the final height of the concrete core? Before the crown goes on top.

Crown rests just over 550 m off the ground.

I liked this name, but not quite true. The design of World Financial Center & Shanghai tower is not architectural, rather engineering.
Hence the name should be Shanghai's engineering trinity, or Shanghai's Supertall trinity

I have to agree with Boyerling 3, "Architectural Trinity"
Yes, engineers are also heavily involved, but the designs are by architects, and the designs are what you see.
If you get an engineer to design a structure, then you end up with something like J220 (Sky City), which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the Shanghai Trio looks WAY better.

Maybe even fewer than 30 metres of concrete. My sketches suggest 2 floors of core, the steel for the observation deck, the steel for the mechanical, and the crown.

They may be installing the steel for the observation deck now!

They should build Kingdom Tower in Shanghai not in the desert.

Well, the height is not the only that counts. In comparison with the whole city of Shanghai, Shenzhen is just a village.

At least ST doesn't have a stick on top!
In terms of bulk, ST is taller than Ping An.
Besides, Changsha might have the tallest in China (and world) before either ST or Ping An are finished any way!

Why would Shanghai be ticked?
It may never have the tallest building in China, but it will definitely have the most amazing one.

Shanghai was looking forward to having tallest building in China, and if Sky City is built on schedule, it'll beat ST by a few months.
