It looks okay after getting used to it. Its really a shame though they couldnt give it more of a chinese feel or characteritic to it. The Jin Mao feels like the perfect chinese skyscraper, its shapes feel like coming from china.(bank of china in hk also very good)
The SWFC had a chinese feel to it at the beggining with the circular hole which can been seen in walls in chinese gardens. Therefore it still feels chinese somehow even though its a square now.

Honestly I think 600m is way to high up for any landscape to be appreciated from. Even the observation decks in Jin Mao and SWFC (presumably) are "too high".
I prefer the middle pearl in the Pearl Tower, or the bar/restaurant floors in the Shimao Intl. Plaza which are located at about 250m height. Everything from that height down to about the 35th floor in the residential buildings are optimal.

An observation deck at 600m would be cool. You could look down on 3 structures rising over 400m.
It`s an observation deck to get an overview.

The decks you have mentioned are also nice.

Think that way about an observation deck at 600m:
If you don`t need it, don`t use it. I would go that high up.

BTW i hope they building something with 550m and some 300m+ skyscrapers in Pudong, too.

Looks weird in the skyline... the skyline doesn't have a sense of aesthetics to it.

Pudong is a developing skyline. Even 15 years ago it was mostly fields. These three buildings will be the centerpiece of a great skyline to come.

i have to add my name to the list of people who are really happy with the confirmed design of the building. and I hope too that it will get an OB deck as high as possible, but have my doubts. Probably, if I look at the design, there is not a big chance of having the OB deck at the heliport, or is it?

but an inside OB deck will be impressive as well..

i am clapping my hands

This is surely a win to the world's architecture. You see me impressed and somewhat envious,...
