both cities draw upon a heritage of a 1920/30s heyday, when much of their centres were laid out -before the Wall St crash in NYC and start of the Pacific war in Asia.

I don't think that is one of the cranes on the core though, because the ones on the core are much larger then what is being taken down. And the cabs are much bigger. This one also looks to have some sort of wheel type structure underneath it. I have actually never seen this crane anywhere on the building.
