Why some people hate the Oriental Pearl Tower so much?
It would be really great if they change the kitsch pink cladding with a pale mint smooth cladding that looks like Jade stone and cover the grey concrete columns with some kind of smooth pale beige coating...
And also change the LED lighting...
Anyway it looks good right now

haha i used to hate it too but it's grown on me. i think it fits in better now that pudong is more filled out. i thought it was kitschy for a very long time but like googie architecture in the west it seems to represent a specific time and a specific aesthetic (1990s china) that now seems somewhat nostalgic.

I want to ask forumers this question, I aked on 1WTC thread, no replies. Does anybody know where to get cool, good quality, 3d skyscraper puzzles or models? Im looking at maybe building the World's top 20 and displaying in my basement. I googled it and was led to asite called plasticmodels.com, they have a cool 1WTC puzzle, or model. If anybody knows where and what are the best options for this kind a hobby please respond or PM me, if anybody would know, us skyscraper fanatics would. Thank all Big Reach.

I don't know any specific place to get 3D models, but you can make paper skyscraper models. Simply print them, cut, glue and fold. There are many threads on SSC with paper models.

I would very much like to know this as well. All I have is a metal model of the Canton Tower, but that was only available at the actual place. I also have a paper model (that I assembled) of the Burj Khalifa, which I bought online I believe.

Most paper models are free on SSC.

BTW, I also have a plastic model of SWFC that was bought from the building itself.

Ooh, I'll be sure to buy that when I visit Shanghai. I'll also look out for any others.

Those are decent, but i'm looking for 3d real looking, i guess puzzle like, but something you can be proud of like a model railroad set. But in this case the world's tallest bldgs.
