At this stage the construction looks exactely like at the same stage the construction of the SWFC was. Just a circle on the surface. But i hope this one won´t be for years on hold like the SWFC was.

Cross your fingers that everything will go well ahead.

Looks like there are 9 mechanical floors throughout the structure and vegetation above each one of them.

Isn't fog grey? Anyway, you haven't seen many pics of Shanghai if you think the city looks always foggy :P

Shanghai is extremely foggy all year around, except for in the summer (I spent the whole summer in Shanghai this year and it had approx. 2-3 unclear days). That been said, the Chinese megacities certainly have their fair share of smog and pollution as well. Although it has improved tremendously in the last 2-3 years, and will continue to get better as China moves to a less manufacturing- and heavy industry based economy.

I don't see any difference at all between the Shanghai photos and the Vienna photos. Visibility issues also become much more pronounced in a city full of skyscrapers as far as you can (or cannot) see.

i totally think the chosen one is the best but at the same time as a student who studies chinese language and literature in Türkiye, i'd like to see a dazzling post-modern icon in the centre of Shanghai.because time is changing so fast there are a lot of similar skyscrapers very beautifuleven dinamic towers projekts existed.in this respect I just wanted shanghai centre has somethin making it differentoke?

Ok, thanks for the clarification. Ive seen pictures of shanghai when its clear skies, and they are just amazing, so modern and classy. By the way, will it be misty during Christmas and new year because i'll be going on holiday and hopefully go to shanghai to hopefully snap some pictures skyline. And yeah, i also do not see any difference between the Shanghai and vienna photos, maybe its the media which makes me think that everytime the skies are not clear, its due to pollution.

Well, it definitely looks different. Unbelievable the Chinese, indeed.

p.s. Saw a documentary yesterday with a segment on a guy working as a Jin Mao window cleaner. It was pre-SWFC, but very cool footage of Pudong on the less.

you can not just assess the air quality with be seeing " foggy" or not
in china ,most part do have muuuuuuuuuuuuch more higher humiditythan in EU. when you don't believe it,,you could visit north east china, the clima there is similar as Europe, try and cool, you could see much more blue sky there, very very blue, even there have lot of heavy industy!!!

and i have just read news, that swiss per person producing 2.5 times CO2 every year than Chinese
and USA are even 7.6 times more than chinese.
so no one could see we are well done!
