Or is it too early to think about that?
Unlikely, it's a suburban location, maybe some ~200m if we're lucky.

I am fairly certain these pics were taken from the following locations. Can the photographer confirm?

01: Nanjing Lu bar, Shimao International Plaza

02-05: Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park

06: Sheraton Shanghai Hongkou Hotel

07: Four Seasons Hotel

@Noms78 & others: sorry for the late reply, but it's easy guys, I had to go to some restaurants on higher floors of these buildings, all famous hotel brands. @Noms78: the last one is wrong!

Actually it is massive. Much more massive than any city in Europe or both Americas for that matter. Large number of highrise buildings somewhat mitigate the effect of massiveness because of the comparable scale of all of them. It's all about the context. It is hard to figure this out by just looking at the picture but if you do some 1:1 comparisons with other cities you'll see what I mean.

Great! Now we can actually compare the render to the progress shown in that close-up photo of the crown just above. We can see that octagon steel structure in the picture, just like in the render/model. We see also where that piece of steel shown a few pages ago, in Lowai's pic... actually went. It formed the top of one of the octagon sides shown in the model.
