I love DVW's last pics on prior page, just love that angle that shows the 3 tall to tallest. Also the 1st pic with OPT is cool too.

Also, the Crown looks great as it takes shape, courtesy of Forum's and Oasis Bankok's latest pics.. 29 MORE meters to go, or a whopping 95 feet, that's still a lot of height to add.

603 meters, officially has passed Mecca!!!!
China, especially Shanghai deserves the tallest not just a runner up.

Thank you very much. The finish should not spend that much.

This is a terrific screenshot from "Inside Shanghai Tower," ((上海中心 ) (The Twister)) a compelling new 9-minute video by filmmaker Nick Almasy, giving a behind-the-scenes look of the design and development of the colossal Shanghai Tower. The video features an interview with Marshall Strabala, Chief Architect of Shanghai Tower, and never before seen footage of the building taken from on the tower and outside.

It's pretty spectacular, but that's because its designers appreciated that an iconic structure has to be beautiful, not just tall. And they realized that a building doesn't stand in isolation from what surrounds it, and so they designed a building that works extremely well with the Jin Mao tower and SWFC. The overall effect is a beautiful skyline, not just a beautiful building.

Don't know about the second pic, but the first one is quite outdated (approx. half december 2013). Also, as far as I know, weather in Shanghai is actually foggy (METARs report an 8000m visibility as for now, but forecasts says it will be foggy/hazed in the next 24hrs).
On the other hand, China is now on holidays for its new year celebrations, so no updates are to be expected in the next 7-10 days.

This is a building I'd rather look at than be in. The views from the offices will be impeded by the framing and reflections caused by the outer windows.

Maybe you're right, also if it's hard to think that Gensler/Strabala may have underestimated such an aspect when projecting their masterpiece.
The problem, maybe, could be more perceivable at hotel levels, where the sight won't likely be comparable with the unobstructed sight one can enjoy from SWFC hotel levels. I guess that an employee at office levels would be instantly fired if caught watching out of the window!
Anyway, I'm sure the sight from the Sky Gardens (i.e. exactly where people is supposed to stay during freetime) will be far more than stunning.

EMPORIS, the world's leading database on building construction, has updated its page on Shanghai Tower. You can see both 2DEFINE Architecture and Gensler are recognized as architects on the project.

The first pic of Oasis-Bangkok is old. The've already reached the next ''Atrium-section''.

I'm not sure SMCYB, I think you can't take good pictures, because of the reflexions, but the human eye is better then a camera. The view won't be governed so much when you look out.
