The crown shouldn't be rising yet. According to previous posts, they should be back at work tomorrow, after the long CNY holiday.
If I'm not wrong, the structure at the top already had horizontal trusses when they stopped working.

I hope this tower will appear on Discovery Channel or National geographic at some point.

They did it for the SWFC (not sure if it was DC or NG), a fortiori they will for this one.

PBS' Super Skyscrapers will cover it in their 2nd episode. The first was 1WTC.

edit: seems the new episode ("Building the Future") will premier on the 12th.

The next phase of construction (the crown) is going to be very interesting.

Before construction starts again in earnest tomorrow, how about a slight digression about the movie, "Her". It's gotten good reviews (I thought it was thought-provoking but pretty slow-moving), but of interest here in this forum is the use of the scenes from downtown Shanghai to stand in for a near-future Los Angeles. What did people think of that?

There was one scene where the main character is in the downtown, and looks up, and they briefly show all 3 of the main towers - the SWFC, the Jin Mao, and the ST, under construction. It looked like the ST from about last June or July, judging by the cladding and progress.

I liked the idea of having scenes from Shanghai in the movie, but any scenes that had the SWFC in the background just shouted Shanghai to me, and I started trying to find ST and some of the nearby buildings. Interestingly, they were careful NOT to show the Oriental Pearl Tower in any shot - I think because that building is considered well enough known now that the average moviegoer would know that it is Shanghai and not L.A.
