When I look at these pictures, I think that only Russians can be so recklessly brave to do such a thing!!!!

The word 'vertigo' isn't included in your own dictionary guys, really!!! .... Not only the word, but even the concept itself!
Your exploit is comparable to the one of that guy who, many years ago (maybe you both weren't born yet), walked on a rope tightened between the top of the old Twin Towers in NYC!

Just a curiosity .... I guess service elevators are powered up also when the yard is closed .... I cannot think you climbed up 130 floors by feet ...

It's gotten good reviews (I thought it was thought-provoking but pretty slow-moving), but of interest here in this forum is the use of the scenes from downtown Shanghai to stand in for a near-future Los Angeles. What did people think of that?

There was one scene where the main character is in the downtown, and looks up, and they briefly show all 3 of the main towers - the SWFC, the Jin Mao, and the ST, under construction. It looked like the ST from about last June or July, judging by the cladding and progress.

I liked the idea of having scenes from Shanghai in the movie, but any scenes that had the SWFC in the background just shouted Shanghai to me, and I started trying to find ST and some of the nearby buildings. Interestingly, they were careful NOT to show the Oriental Pearl Tower in any shot - I think because that building is considered well enough known now that the average moviegoer would know that it is Shanghai and not L.A.

I saw "HER" a few days ago and thought the same things - we Americans seldom see Shanghai like someone living there would and I totally believe it could be a future LA until the ST reveal later in the move.

And that scene where Joaquin trips brought to mind a place I know I saw on the thread.

If I wore the proper gear to be tied off, then perhaps I'd venture out on that crane. Otherwise, not a chance. lol

Great shots Raskalov and Makhorov.

And to think the top of that building would be 350 or so meters taller than the top bit of Shanghai Tower's crane! It really puts the 1km height into perspective.

A children game, in comparison to what they've done now
