This will give the White Hats fits, because they will have to inspect the entire structure to make sure nothing was left behind, taken, or changed.
Where is security? It seems like the PRC is more free than the USA.

What surprised me was that they were walking in daylight with their faces covered with hoodies and masks. If that was to happen in London they would get detained by the cops in a matter of minutes. In this respect UK is far more of a 'police state' than China could ever be.

There is a sense of freedom (sometimes perhaps even too much) on regular streets in Chinese cities (Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai). There is also a sense of general safety which is far less common in Europe unless you're in Switzerland.

Some more pictures taken by these nutcases.

http://raskalov-vit.livejournal.com/134512.html

By the way, they deliberately picked Chinese New Year because "workers were on vacations, and cranes did not work",,,they tell their story in the link above.

No attack until it happens I suppose. Americans didn't quite expect 9-11 either.

Wasn't there an attempt by Uighur terrorists in Tiananmen Square not too long ago? What if they decide to go for something bigger? China is often described in the West as having 'tight grip' with security situation but general feeling on the city streets is that everything is very relaxed. Of course there's no need for tight security because violent crimes seem to be very rare anyway but it's a matter of time until extremists will decide to exploit that.

Well, legally speaking this was trespassing. It's a crime in most countries around the globe.

Yea, they have probably visited China for the last time. Sad for these guys since they didn't sabotaged anything. Also, they have given Shanghai and this tower a lot of free PR.

How could he just stand like that? Doesn't look very stable.

I suppose he's leaning against something?
