I don't have a good camera and the view isn't all that good. You would be surprised how many days the Pudong skyline isn't even visible from my office. But I will take a pic the next time we have a good day. Its supposed to rain tomorrow.

To be fair the angle makes Jin Mao look smaller anyway even though in reality is still much smaller than Shanghai Tower. In any case Jin Mao's Spire is right about where 1WTC's roof is.

It's crazy how huge this thing is... Jin Mao, 1WTC, Sears Tower and the Shanghai World Financial Center are the highest buildings I've ever seen and they are just massive! And all would look small compared to Shanghai Tower.

I hope the US can build something this caliber someday

I'm assuming you meant 4WTC

SWFC is a bit over 200 feet higher than WTC's roof where as 1WTC is 400 feet over 4WTC's roof.

Shanghai Tower on the other hand would make any of the WTC buildings and even SWFC look small.

This will be the second highest tower in the world, right?

So impressive.

I think Ping An will have a higher spire but yea, this will be the world's tallest after Burj Khalifa.

There are other proposals for buildings higher like one in Suzhou and another in Jeddah but I'll believe it when they start rising.

Wait... So they changed the crown design when it will soon be topped-out? Wouldn't that require structural deviations?

I'm with you Jay, but I don't think it will happen, NOT in my lifetime and I'm 39,, I will travel to China to see the tallest when I retire Then go to Dubai on route back. If China hasn't beat them in 15 years.

So what's the next supertall for Shanghai? Until now, when one was finished, the next one started (kind of).
