Concerning the empty plots along North Suzhou Road; I found out that at the eastern plot they will build the "Sino-American Truss Financial Center" 中美信托金融大楼. Two office buildings 60m and 100m tall and a mall. The construction was supposed to start in 2012 and finish in 2016, but they haven't really started building yet.

Both plots are affected by the tunnel of Line 12 of Shanghai Metro that opened last December. Apparently there are some problems in this very part of the tunnel because of water linkages (super common situation in Shangainese-like soft soils saturated with water). I guess these plots haven't yet been developed because they were waiting for the metro tunnel to be constructed and the soil conditions to be controlled.

I found this out all this via one of the developers website: http://www.shzxjt.com/net/Front/Inde...il.aspx?id=978 (Chinese)

No words for Shanghai Tower, just awesome.

That wouldn't matter lol.. If the phtotgrapher takes the image correctly, the whole tower can fit in frame. The reason it's loading slow is because these images are located on a slow webserver.

If/when China gets its smog/pollution problems under control and the smog finally clears out of the big cities I think Shanghai will indisputably have the most spectacular skyline in the world based on the above picture alone.
