Awesome shots of the big 3. I'm not sure yet about the podium. I like the part where the glass facade comes down to street level. It will be very cool to stand there and look up.

One continuous surface from the base to the top, I love that. As opposed to buildings with podiums or setbacks, it gives a huge visual impression from street level.

100 years since lowai updated

The glasses are so dirty, just look at the newly installed glasses of the bottom 5 floors and compare those to the glasses of upper floors.

Remember there's some work happening inside of those courtain walls. The non-structural (finishings?) phases such as floors, ceilings, painting and such, they all lift some dust for sure.

The white part has a protective covering.

Technically every floor of this building is slightly setback for the overall tapered appearance.

Even with dirty windows it's quite impressive. I'm eager to see all the windows as clean as the recently installed ones at the base.

I didn't say there was anything "wrong" with the colors. I simply meant that, to me, when I look at the photos, they kind of clash. I don't actually think they do in reality, but I get that impression in photos.

It's really hard to explain, which is why I was curious if other people had that experience (i.e. differences in one's perception of them in photos vs. real life).

I remember when I was living in Shanghai that they seemed to work okay together, but I've been away since 2011, so I haven't seen it in person yet.

I love the design. It gives it character. It gives it a smooth and powerful standing of elegance. A great masterpiece. IMO it is one of the best supertalls in the world in terms of design. Certainly a far more superior design than 1WTC, whose potential was disgraced by indecisive bureaucrats.

The colors of the three buildings don't clash, they change with the direction of the sun.

long time no update, some notable progress.

I think they are installing the smaller crane on the core now.
