The view from the base is in my opinion the most impressive part of the tower.

For a long time, I wasn't fond of it. Though, now that I can actually see the full form, I do think it's quite nice. I still think the glass (or the interaction between the inner and outer cladding) is a bit too opaque at times. Wish they could have chosen something a bit more transparent for the outer cladding. Then again, that might trump the climate control.

Surely, they've already begun installing the gardens? Or will they not have large trees? 20 Fenchurch St. in London has a sky garden, and I remember them having to lift/plant the trees before finishing the roof. I'm curious to see what these gardens look like in ST.

Well, they usually install trees (saplings) that have been growing in a nursery. In any case, they're not fully grown but quite large, nonetheless.

I assume they're doing the same here? Unless the gardens aren't really "gardens" in the traditional sense.

21 Fenchurch St.

The few photos we've seen (renders) indicate something more reserved (e.g. lobbies, more than gardens). I was just curious how far they're interested in going with the "oasis in the sky" motif.

I saw some debate on the 'dirty' upper windows. Walking past I could see actually they were different. Maybe this is why.

I took this before work this morning. Looks like they are testing the lighting. The lower podium levels have clear glass. The upper ones are less clear as they have the exterior lighting.
