This will continue a couple years more like this, but China by 2017-18 will really start tackling this problem, eliminate coal and use clean natural gas, take of its polluting cars from the street, build thousands of kms of new Metro all around the country, and clean its pollution from the air. Then everyone will see the true beauty of the modern Chinese cities.

You'r right, I was indeed trolling. China doesn't have a pollution problem, especially in the largest cities. In fact, the least polluted countries in the world are in this order 1.China 2.Canada 3.Iceland 4.Norway 5. Sweden

But those are indeed clouds, you're making it sound like that's all pollution, which is wrong and trollish.

I'm colourblind but I can tell the difference between clouds and smog in a split second.

Those are smog, trust me I've been there. This deadly mist reaches as far down as HK and Macau. In most days Hong Kong and Macau's skyscrapers are shrouded with this smog, only to disappear after a heavy downpour

If you want to see a real fog/mist come and see the Petronas tower in KL. In the evening you'll see the magic when low clouds envelope this superstructure but then when Indonesia burns its forest in the summertime, the fine fog will be replaced by smog coming out from those forest fires :-(

Smog is low down and has browinsh colour, and is not fluffy. Fluffly white things 500 meters up are clouds. Shanghai is near the ocean, which forms more clouds.

There will not be many good shots for a while, we are in The Plum Rain Season, so a few weeks of low clouds and rain.

Chinese is 梅雨 or Méiyǔ.

When it's over its clear and hot with the odd Typhoon.
