No, actually the buildings on the site are temporary worker housing (red roofs) and the project office (blue stripes, lol).

Is that supposed to be the diameter of the building? If so that's great! I love fat, tall buildings like the former World Trade Center towers in New York City.

If not, I still can't wait to see this thing rise. It's a very good design.

If it's going to rise over 600m, it's bound to be at bit fat. Just look at how much area Burj Dubai takes up at the ground floor.

So I guess Lujiazui area couldn't "quiet down" till 2020. Great news!

I don't think Lujiazui area will ever be quiet. I think they'll just continue to expand more and more towers outward. And their is always the possibility of the towers that are built now, that they could be bought out and demolished. And the new owners would build something new in their place, happens all the time in NYC, Chicago, HK.

One of the failed contenders, nice try but looks like Chinese version of the Freedom Tower.

This was rejected because it was beyond the height limit for Shanghai?

lol i was joking, i think the limit in puxi is like 300m, and there should be no limit in lujiazui, but as long as the skyline would still look in proposion and looks similar to what was planned in 1991
