This one is awesome, both the SWFC and the Shanghai Tower look so much bigger than the Oriental Pearl Tower, despite OPT being in the foreground. And Jinmao literally looks like a toy next to the Shanghai Tower.

The reflection of Jin Mao on the SWFC in that picture is unique.

Albeit rather slowly, but then it's rough working at that height.

So they're starting to glass in the observation levels.

One can just barely make out the outline of the perimeter of the shortest side of the crown in the last picture posted by Kanye.

The observation floors are extremely tall, maybe nearly 5~6m in height.

Awesome!

This has been growing like a weed!! I remember when it just started to pop out of the ground, and it seems like yesterday!!

When I do visit this site, I generally don't post often, and I am limited in time so I dont get to obtain specific info all the time on these projects I am interested in.

Some questions I have...

-- It was mentioned that the obs levels are just being cladded in glass now. I was checking out these impressive pics and wondering what floor the obs deck is on, and how high up it is?

-- Is it just mechanical after the obs deck, or are there some ultra exclusive office suites before the building tops off to the crown?

The skyline looks incredible - One of these days I would LOVE to take a vacation to China, and see Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, all the other major cities. Maybe even make the jump over to Taipei, Singapore, and perhaps South Korea. It seems like if you plan your trip very well, you can stay at very nice hotels and be able to enjoy yourself with all the sights and attractions of each city, including the ability to experience the culinary delights you are bound to run into. Years ago, I use to want to stay at the Jim Mao at the top suite, I think that it was 376 meters up or something like that. Now there are so many choices, even with the top levels of ICC. The cool thing with ICC is no matter what hotel level you end up on, your already well over 100 floors above ground..

I used to want to go to Dubai at least to see Burj Khalifa, but you are still in a region where you are surrounded by people who are generally not too fond of Americans, although obviously there are exceptions in Dubai and other similar places. I hate to say it but I think my money would go farther on a China trip, and I would be able to see these mega cities, and actually visit the ultra-tall buildings sprouting up very rapidly.

Compare and contrast to the Chances of you going to Saudi Arabia to visit the new monster they are making (once its completed) are slim to none. That is unless you have a VISA of some kind; usually with Americans its a work VISA. If you ever wanted to visit the Mecca (Makkah), you are most likely not going to be able to do that as an American, and if you did you would have people looking at you like they would want to kill you. At least in Dubai its very safe and you dont have to worry about that as much, as long as you are the type of person who is aware of the local laws of the country you are visiting, AND you respect these laws. Obviously, I would feel much more comfortable in China or most of the Asian countries.

I have friends that cringe when I tell them this, and these are people who would rather go generic route and go to Hawaii. I don't think there is anything wrong with that and it would be great to go to Hawaii. But to compare a tourist trap (a beautiful one at that I must admit) to a land of interesting history with endless sights, and to experience the different culture in a country that is friendly to Americans, is like comparing apples to oranges. I still have not been to Hawaii and I DO want to go. But if I have to choose (for my first trip) between the Hawaii, or the trip I mentioned above, I would DEFINITELY pick the latter!! I also have to admit that I like some of the women in that region as well!
