Yes, you are right. The Awash Bank is behind the National Theatre which used to be a shanty slam area - close to Commercial College & Bedlu building - Poor Bedlu building. I wonder if the HIV breeding ground i.e. the beer house (Nazareth Pension) with all those our poor sisters (the prostitutes) still located there in the slam?
I went to Nazareth Pension once - what a horrible place.

The previous design was not very attractive. The two towers were too skinny. It looked like some silly Third World attempt to construct something they could call "twin towers." (no offense) I think the new design will look better. Hopefully, a render will become available soon.

Also, that really wasn't the best site for Addis Ababa's tallest building. There would have been tall buildings to the south of the site, but nothing tall to the north - it would have been totally lopsided. And worse, the building would cast a huge shadow down on Saint George's Church. The really tall buildings will look better closer to Meskel and Mexico Squares.

Been to Nazreth Pension many times, many memories.

Anyway, Piassa should keep its current feel, in my view. High rise is a bad idea.

lamrof,
I'm trying my best Okay. Here is the evidence (step 1). don't know why but, while trying step 2, I was a bit taken over by unknown supernatural phenomenon. Anyways, are you now proud of me or still expecting me to die my hair blonde?

Evidence 1 - On my PC

addis ababa is looking more and more like an emerging economy's capital city by the day. parts of it look like seoul, korea!! *the less modern parts* - this is from personal experience!
