Isn't BT tower weird from some viewpoints. It looks really close to council house here:

I find it funny how you can 'tune-out' of the BT and almost not notice it is there, then asometimes see it from a new viewpoint and be surprised!

Like above!

I must say that the basic paint job improved the look of BT considerably . Take a look at some of the old pics....extemely drab . I think it's quite an attractive structure now ; touching elegant at times .

Carillion wins £500m BT deal
12:55 - 05 February 2008
Construction and support services firm Carillion is celebrating a £500 million contract win from telecoms giant BT.

The Wolverhampton-based firm's Monteray consortium has been chosen to carry out maintenance work across the telecoms company's 7,000 UK buildings.

The deal covers BT's entire property portfolio - ranging from small, unmanned telephone exchanges in remote parts of Scotland to landmark sites such as London & Birmingham's BT Tower.

Good news for Carillion - and yes I used to hate the look of the BT tower 20 odd years ago when it was drab, dirty and more of a scar on the cityscape to be honest. But now its like a shining beacon and I hope it stays a prominant landmark for another 40 years
