Dobrovského tunnel is part of VMO (Velký městský okruh) - Brno city ring, it's on the north. It will connect D1 with current I/43 heading to Svitavy, but future R43 expressway will run on the west of the city.

R43 is green line going south-north

I work in the F/G building.. in a fact all of them all already built, only the B/C building is due to start this year, depends on IBM`s (or maybe some new tenant`s...) needs...

This is quite surprising news to me: Orco is going to partially complete "Obchodní dům Centrum", former Baťa department store built in 1931 not far from centre of Brno. Originally it was planned to have 28 floors (then 23 floors), but during construction this plan was canceled and only 8 floors were finished. Orco plan to add 6 floors, so it will have together 14 floors and will be 60m tall.

Original plan by architect Karfík in the late 20's:

only 8 floors were finished in 1931:

So additional floors of the highrise could be a sort completition of Vladimír Karlík project?
And thanks for the nice Brno highrise history excursion.

^ Sorry for late response, I was quite busy last days...

I'm not sure if they are going use Karfík's project, I guess they will build some modification, in any case it will be much lower compared to original project. It's near historical centre of Brno so they have to respect requirements of preservationists.
