We looked at mountains until dawn, and then when dawn came, it was too pretty for me - there was pink and blue and gold, in the sky, and on icy places, brilliant pink and gold flashes, and the snow was colored too, and I said," Oh," and sighed; and each moment was more beautiful than the one before; and I said, " I love you, Momma." Then I fell asleep in her arms.
That was happiness then.

Great pictures. When it comes to weather, the two cities have little in common. Yet both are located on, & largely ringed, by water, the Pacific & estuaries. While the canal turned Panama City into a boomtown, it' s also had a significant impact on the growth of San Francisco. In fact, SF was the site of the Panama-Pacific expo in the early 20th century. Great to compare the skylines. PC's skyline looks at least as impressive as ours!

The two cities also share a common history during the California Gold Rush of 1849 (hence the term "49ers") when they established a regular round trip schedule ferrying gold seekers and mail between each other. And with tongue planted firmly in cheek I will add that today, the two cities share my claim of each other as my cities...
