Dallas wins this one for me. It's just so well-proportioned and it looks amazing at night.
1) Dallas 2) Houston - For sheer size and sprawl of the towers 3) Austin - Frost Tower is a gem 4) San Antonio - Not bad, but needs a facelift 5) Fort Worth - Needs a signature tower Just my opinion, anyway |

1. Houston - huge and great variety in architecture; one of the best in the USA
2. Dallas - very nice; I especially like the look reunion tower and the green building (lighted at night) give it 3. Austin - cool and improving quickly with all of the projects going on and planned 4. San Antonio - not bad, I like Tower of the Americas and The Alamo, but the skyline seems paltry for a city/metro that size 5. Fort Worth - not bad, but the skyline feels stuck in the '80's 6. El Paso - interesting with the mountain and star in the background |

Houston - the massing, density and variety of downtown is simply great; then there's midtown, too...
Dallas is runner up, followed by Austin. -

my pics 1) Houston (love it in the day heading south on I-45, sucks at night though!) 2) Dallas (night skyline and individual towers rock) 3) Austin (Pretty crystal like architecture on Frost building) 4) Uptown Houston (love the signature Williams tower and all the shiney towers surrounding it) 5) Fort Worth (kind of ugly and boxy but still scores points because its massive) 6) San Antonio (definitely needs work but scores for its size and Tower of Americas) 7) Texas Medical Center Houston- (Very dense and growing!!!) 8) El Paso (not really tall but still a cool skyline)

Although I lived in San Antonio for several years(military brat), I have to give up to Houston's spectacular looking skyline. I remember driving through Houston on I-10 back in the day and wishing there was some kind of way I could take some of those towers back to San Antonio with me(just kidding)!!!!! Btw, Dallas also has a nice skyline and Austin is starting to develop a nice one too.
