Houston of course, the only other city that can compare is Dallas.

Fort Worth is at least getting another 500 ft. tower. The new Omni Fort Worth Hotel broke ground in late August and the site is already being excavated. For the time being, the 50 story replacement for the Landmark Tower has been shelved and the 900 ft. Block TU Tower has been shortened to 30 stories.

I spent three day driving all over Texas. In my impression:
1. Houston. 2. Dallas 3. Austin 4. San. Antonio Waco is just so so. To me, Laredo in the border of US and Mexico seems to be ghetto .

Austin has the best-looking skyline. Houston is the densest. Dallas' skyline looks too dense, then not dense enough--not a good situating of tall vs less tall buildings. San Antonio's is pretty good too. Austin ranks #1 in my book. El Paso has a gritty, foreign feel about it. Of course it is almost in Mexico...

See, there you go again! I didn't attack his opinion. I attacked the logic.

But Dallas LOOKS dense but not dense enough. I'm sure you heard comparisons similar to this before in your lifetime. Again, it's his opinion, no matter how he portrayed it.

Dallas at night -- jazzy, spirited, fun.
Houston -- great top-to-bottom views of postmodern scrapers. Houston Uptown -- Transco is a gem. Dallas in the day -- the faceted glass building is one of best in the US. (Enormous space here.) San Antonio, Austin, Fort Worth. |

Dallas is definately the best. The Reunion Tower (the golf ball shaped building) and the green building (I forget the name) highlight the skyline, especially at night. Houston is overrated just because its big and dense.
