I am impressed with the SL team. I pinpoint Mahela and Tom Moody for the change. They are now a ruthless cricket side. Hope their form continues til the end of April, with a showdown with the aussies in Barbados

I just caught the end of that match and let me tell you....I have never seen anything more than exciting than that. Sri Lanka is quickly becoming the favorite team. What an effort by the bowlers!!

that was ONE crazy match...but in the end..I think SA deserved it in light of our spirited bowling. Our bowling is always there, but our batting is our let down....

SA v Sri Lanka...

what a game !! and what a cruel ending.. if you are supporting SL that is

This is what brings life to cricket A fantastic game. Sri Lanka having had to bat first in ALL their games for the first time the batting failed to some quality SA bowling especially Langeveldt.

But the chase.. it looked there was little in the pitch and I was cursing Malinga for getting his length mixed up. SA seemd to be cruising with Kallis. I wouild have thought that the South Africans by the 20th over ( about 100 runs scored for 2 ) would be more concerned with improving run rate and try win the game by 35 overs. However Murali was effective and caused concerns, and the South Africans once more showed that they were suspect to playing quality spin.

Murali had an excellent spell and got 3 wickets and was damn unlucky with one lbw shout. Then came Malinga... foojing fantastic pace bowling.. he simply was on fire. Best moment of WC so far !! Had he held on to that catch off his own bowling !! 4 wickets in 4 balls and the fifth and final one.. missed the bat for a slip catch by 1 cm and the stumps by one. Thats how close SL came to winning this game after SA was 205-5 with 5 to win.

Anyway I am full of praise for the SL team for not giving in and fighting till the end, in what looked like a dead cert win for SA. If SL can bat better and not crumble like today, we got a godo chance of making it to the semis. South Africa did win the game but yet again showed that they can't handle pressure, quality spin etc which is much needed in crunch situations. . Sri Lanka came out losing but won the support of many a neutral fans and I hope to see this team atleast in the semis !

SL deserved a tie at least. What a game. if only Mahela had a 2nd slip for malinga...

I think that is one of Mahela's flaws...he doesn't believe in adding the slips during the later parts of the match

oh...what a match! and what a dissimilarity betn spells of Malinga...SL is a real fighting team...and they deserved those two points SA got, at least one! But batting was disappointing...a carefull batting can take 'em to final.

Well, actually I'd rather have SL win the game. It's a pity that WI lost most of its games though, they are my favorite team after SL.
