Insane design. Nice pics.
I love it.
How many skylights are there?
If I understood it right, they are vertical openings from the station to the surface. Haven't seen something like it.

Also, one station has 3 totally different ambient. Gotta say that I'd never think it could be this charming. Good work Napoli!

Is the mosaic lining the light shaft modular, pre-fabricated? If not, then its painstaking tile setting for such an invisible, inaccessible area astonishes me. Plus how will all that grout throughout the station(s) be kept clean?

Naples Subway has really beautiful stations. I hope that in the next years more stations are opened; it is really sad the current pace of network expansion. Is it because of archeological findings? Otherwise I don't understand why does it take so long to build new stations. By the way, when are Garibaldi and Municipio stations going to open? Thanks in advance!

Yes the archaeological finds have greatly delayed the works, but they have also enriched the stations, such as the Duomo station (UC), in which was found an ancient greek temple during the excavations, and it will be built inside the station.

Then, Garibaldi will open in late 2012, early 2013, while Municipio in late 2013

It 'was realized a system for cleaning. There are some doors for access into the skylight.
