There are definitely some good ideas in there, that should be easy to do.

Arrival or countdown clocks at busy stations with express and local trains, like Bryant Park, would be great. It's frustrating trying to get home after work and seeing local trains roll by and not knowing where the next express train is.

And signage, like what's shown below, in some of the bigger stations where a handful of lines intersect would be nice as well.

19. Directional Lines
Throughout the system, we’re directed to trains via a system of signs. These signs can be confusing in certain stations, like Union Square or Grand Central, where there are multiple signs for the same station in different locations. Perhaps a series of guidelines on the floor can help guide users throughout the underground

Idea #33 looks dumb.

She must have run out of ideas.

NYPD Investigating Secret Subway Parties

Tod Seelie/Gothamist

The hottest party in New York City last weekend may not have been at any of the city’s various clubs or night spots, but buried beneath them.

Photos from an underground party held in an abandoned subway station surfaced on the New York news website Gothamist this week showing dozens of individuals watching dancers and listening to live music in an abandoned subway station.

Now, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the New York Police Department are investigating the photos.

“Trespassing in non-public areas … is a serious crime and has the potential to lead to injury,” the MTA said in a statement to ABC News. “This incident has been passed on to the NYPD for investigation.”

The NYPD did not respond to request for comment.

It says in the article that there were no restroom accommodations underground. Partygoers had to make sure they did their business before arriving. That must have been an inconvenience.

I guess they found a way to solve that problem... somehow.

Abandoned NYC Subway Stations
It's been established elsewhere that they used the unfinished section of the Second Ave subway down by canal street and chinatown.

Too funny, that's where I fancied it was held ... more than 50 stations have been shut many decades now

That party must have taken place 50 years in the future.

I did hear that the 2nd Ave subway is like the subway that time forgot, so I'm not surprised about the unfinished segments.

Awesome thread! This is my first time in this section, but I've been doing a bunch of studying on NYC's Subway lately and wanted to subscribe.
