John's Asia trip (part 2): BANGKOK, let's play tourists

I was with him on this trip together with Blimey and, as John is banned here (unjustly in my view but that's another story....), then it falls to me to post them here.

Most of the taxis are rather new Toyota Corollas which are produced locally (as well as some other Japanese car brands) which makes them cheper and more affordable

Traveling in a taxi. Bangkok's got loads and loads of newly built massive freeways which are meant to solve its traffic problems. But does it? Hell NO! Traffic is crazy and even hundreds of kilometres of new highways will hardly change it. Decent pubic transport and various restrictions on car ownership is the only solution

We are travelling to Bayoke Tower (tallest building in Bangkok) where we'll observe Bangkok from the height of about 300m
